The Lake Travis Fiddlers

Celebrating 25 years of musical excellence, the Lake Travis Fiddlers of Lake Travis High School have brought the vibrant sounds of Western Swing to the Texas Hill Country since their founding in 2000. Established by Orchestra Director Anna Macias, this distinguished ensemble features 12–15 student musicians performing on fiddle, guitar, bass, drums, and electric guitar. They remain the only group of their kind in the state of Texas.
The Lake Travis Fiddlers perform regularly at school functions, community events, and Western swing festivals, and have appeared at prominent venues and events across the region and beyond. Notable performances include the Austin Rodeo, H-E-B Feast of Sharing, the Butler Texas Young Masters Reception, the Texas Music Educators Association Convention, the Texas Orchestra Directors Association Convention, and the prestigious Midwest Clinic in Chicago.

Over the years, the ensemble has shared the stage with and opened for renowned artists such as Ray Price, Rick Treviño, The Eggmen, Charlie Daniels, Ray Benson, and Beto y los Fairlanes.
Alumni of the program have gone on to pursue successful careers in music, forming their own bands, earning degrees in music, and working professionally as singer-songwriters and performers across the United States. One alumnus has also become a college instructor, and another is currently a doctoral candidate in music composition at Columbia University, further extending the program’s legacy.
In recognition of their cultural contributions, Travis County officially proclaimed June 3, 2025, as Lake Travis Fiddlers Day.
